J.I.D has added a new song to his latest album, The Forever Story, and according to him, fans can now listen to the project in the right way.
The Dreamville rapper included the song “2007” on his album after clearance issues prevented it from making the tracklist when the LP first dropped in August. J.I.D took to Twitter to revel in the news.

“2007 is really out.. I’m up early really replaying TFS the correct way,” he tweeted on Thursday (November 3).
The song was initially released on J.I.D’s father’s birthday as a teaser and YouTube exclusive on the Dreamville collective’s page. It hears him tell the story of his upbringing and experiences in college, from an aspiring football player to a rapper.
It also features skits from his father talking about when he found out J.I.D was kicked out of school and pursued rap, and J. Cole speaking on how they met and when he decided to sign him to Dreamville.
In August, J.I.D sent out a tweet letting fans know the song was the outro to the album and needed to be added to capture the story he was telling.

“A couple years before that, we lost my other grandma on my mother’s side. This is my dad’s mother we lost. Recording this, my dad is singing his heart out on this recording.”
He continued: “At the beginning of the song, if you listen to it, the first 15, 20 seconds, you could hear my whole family singing. You could hear my momma say, ‘Thank you, Lord.’
