Jerry Seinfeld Details Wale Relationship, Opinion Of ‘The Album About Nothing’

Jerry Seinfeld’s friendship with Wale was initially revealed in a Complex story. Since then details about their relationship have scarcely surfaced.

Recently speaking with the New York Times, the Seinfeld actor detailed how he met the Washington D.C.-based rapper, explaining that his wife played a big part in it.

“I think I met him even before I knew about the mixtape,” he said. “My wife was a fan and she plays his music in the house all the time. I liked it, too — I don’t spend much time putting together playlists, but that’s what’s nice about being in a family is people just inflict it on you. I absorb it that way.

“So I had heard his name and then he came to a show and asked if he could say hello, so he came backstage. I thought he was a very charming young man. And then I heard about the mixtape, and he came up with the idea of doing the whole album. It just felt so offbeat and that’s what appeals to me.”

When asked whether he has met any other rappers because of Wale, Mr. Seinfeld replied that he didn’t but he does know members of the Hip Hop community via his own discovery.

“No, but I know some rap people,” he said. “I’ve known Puffy for a long time. And I met Kanye a few weeks ago. He was very nice. It was at the “SNL 40” thing. We were in the garage and we were all freezing. He invited Mrs. Seinfeld and I onto a bus that he was in. He seemed like a nice young man.”

    1. I am a Wale fan but something is fishy here. Now they are bringing the wife into this. I think there is a cuckold relationship going on. Wale is smashing Jerry’s wife and Jerry gets off on that and returns the favor by hopping on the album and bringing a whiter larger audience. Probably not true but still possible.

    2. friends my ass. the label cut the check so jerry has to pretend he cares about this clown who still watches wrestling on tv

      1. You think that a record label could pay Jerry Seinfeld enough just to push a Wale album? TV shows with much bigger budgets cant even do that. Think.

    3. This is what I like to see, when the white man kisses the black man’s feet. In this case, a white man and his white wife lol!

      1. wale has based his whole career off this white mans comedy tv show so if anyone is kissing as its wale, truth is they probably met like 3 times

    4. “Mr. Seinfeld”
      “nice young man”

Like what is this nigga 5? Seems like there’s more emphasis on the “he didn’t act like a black person, so I decided to do this” than, “I really enjoy his music.”

    5. My middle aged wife likes to listen to Wale when she drives the kids to their private school also.
