Jermaine Dupri has confirmed that a fan-favorite collaboration with Usher that didn’t make the COMING HOME tracklist will officially get a release.
The rapper and producer took to X (formerly Twitter) on Wednesday (February 21) to share the good news.

The “Comin’ From Where I’m From” crooner shared a video that showed the initial livestream during which the song was previewed, coupled with fan disappointment that the song wasn’t on Usher’s ninth studio album, which was released on February 9.

Despite the track not making the initial COMING HOME cut, Dupri and the “Yeah!” crooner are still on great terms. Earlier this month, Usher sat down for an in-depth conversation about his new album with some of his famous friends, including Jermaine and Lil Jon.
Hosted by Angie Nwandu from The Shade Room, Into The Groove gives fans an intimate insight into the making of the recently-released album. J.I.D., Gayle King, broadcasters Cari Champion and Molly Qerim, music exec Shawn “Pecas” Costner and songwriter Johnta Austin also joined the conversation as Usher spoke about his process in making the new album, the meaning behind select featured songs, and more.

He also spoke about his Super Bowl halftime show, saying: “The city gave me an energy and it gave me an opportunity to realize that people love our culture.”
After the Super Bowl performance, the “Welcome to Atlanta” artist called on Pharrell Williams while responding to people making jokes about his Super Bowl halftime show outfit.
Dupri introduced “Confessions Part II” during the performance, although many viewers were left bemused by his choice of attire.
The So So Def hitmaker appeared on stage wearing a black suit but with shorts and white socks that some compared to ones schoolgirls wear.

The producer made fans aware he knew about the jokes, writing on Instagram: “Haaa!! ok I ain’t have time for y’all last night I was too drunk, me and my homies performed at the Super Bowl! so I’m just really seeing y’all got me fucked up !!
“But I will say it’s funny as hell, yoooo!! @pharrell [crying face emojis] you see this !? PS we came into this game with our clothes on backwards, i ain’t no regular n-gga.”
