Jeezy‘s wife Jeannie Mai has spoken out for the first time since her Atlanta rap legend husband filed for divorce last month.

While the couple is still reportedly living together, Mai shared a subliminal message to Instagram on Wednesday (October 11) about how she needs to take time to breathe which could be tied to her fractured relationship with the “Put On” hitmaker.

“Sometimes you need to take a break and disconnect to heal,” she wrote in a notepad captioned with a black heart emoji.

Jeannie Mai received a ton of love and support from friends, family and fans in her comment section looking to uplift her during this turbulent time.

“You don’t owe us anything, not a word, not a video, not a photo/selfie. Nothing! Release that pressure and just live to His expectation… no one else’s! Bless,” one person wrote.

Another added: “Do what you need for you and yours. As long as you need. Love you Sis!”

Mai and Jeezy got hitched in 2021 and welcomed their daughter Monaco last year. There reportedly is a prenuptial agreement in place for the divorce — which Jeezy filed for last month — as well.

According to Page Six, Mai has been left “devastated” by Jeezy filing for the split and wants her family back and to make things work.

“The truth is Jeannie wants her marriage to work, and wants her family to be one solid unit,” a source relayed. “She is devastated that Jeezy filed for divorce.

“[Jeannie] deeply loves Jeezy, and she wants to work things out. She did not get married to get divorced. This was not a part of the plan. This is not how she ever imagined things would go down.

“Even though Jeezy has filed, Jeannie is holding out hope that he would be willing to sit down and works things [out]. She is hoping for a resolution and wants to remain as a united family unit.”

According to Entertainment Tonight, a source close to the Atlanta rap star and former co-host of The Real said that they didn’t agree on “certain family values and expectations.”

“They had different views, and each felt like their needs weren’t being completely met,” the source said.

The divorce is currently listed as a contested divorce in the legal system, meaning that Jeannie Mai is contesting the proceedings. A preliminary hearing is set for October 19.
