Jeezy Feud “Blown Out Of Proportion,” Freddie Gibbs Says

Freddie Gibbs has shared his belief that his past feud with Jeezy “got a little blown out of proportion.”

While speaking exclusively with HipHopDX, Gary, Indiana rapper Freddie Gibbs offered his thoughts on the past feud between himself and Jeezy. According to the rapper, their feud was blown out of proportion on both ends.

Gibbs added that although he doesn’t regret releasing his Jeezy diss records, he feels he shouldn’t have taken it to that level.

“Nah, not really,” Freddie Gibbs said when asked if he ever spoke to Gucci Mane about his issues with Jeezy. “Not really. I don’t really involve other people in my situations like that. I just keep it one-hundred. I just—I needed to grow. And I just felt that I wasn’t getting the respect that I needed in that situation. So, I just did it on my own. That’s all. It wasn’t—I think that it got a little blown out of proportion. On my part and his part. We were both angry at the time. He said some stuff in some interviews. I definitely fired back. And I said stuff on records. I probably shouldn’t have took it to that level.”

Gibbs spoke further on Gucci Mane, who he says he met through Jeezy, while speaking on his “10 Times” record, which features Gucci and E-40.

“I love Gucci Mane,” the rapper said. “It was always a dream of mine to do a record with him. It came out dope. What can I say? I wish that Gucci Mane was out to really help a nigga fully push the record…They don’t call him the Trap God for nothing. He definitely influenced a lot of rappers. Especially a lot of rap coming out of Atlanta. A lot of rap coming out of everywhere.”

Lastly, Gibbs revealed that if he stayed at Interscope Records and didn’t branch out on his own, he’d likely be forgotten by now.

“I think this industry, this game’s all about timing,” Gibbs said. “I just think that I’ve put in the work to get to where I’m at right now. My time is now. I feel like I never—I feel like every time I put out a project I feel like a new artist. As long as I maintain that hunger, I’ll be—I’m good every time…If I would have stayed on Interscope at that time, who knows where my career would be. I’d probably be a memory by now. I’d probably be done. It’s a lot of people that was signed at that time. It’s a lot of people that was on magazine covers around that time. It was a lot of people that was the man around that time. And you don’t know who they are.”

    1. Yeah like XV he was signed to interscope haven’t heard much from him lately, Wale needed to leave they mess up his album single, they loss Bilal when they leaked his second album Love 4 sell, interscope had some good artists signed and didn’t know how market them, though some that took their career in their own hands after being release by them are doing just fine.

      1. I really disagree with that statement, I think Gibbs WITHOUT Madlib is much better….I don’t like his new album much but Cold Day In Hell, ESGN and BFK was Gibbs at his best IMO…. Trap bangers and Houston-UGK type songs fit him much better than Madlib, I never fucked with Madlib to be honest, his beats seem to abstract and unorthodox …other boom bap producers like Premier or Pete Rock for example have a much frsher and more polished sound.

      2. I think you and gnucca please or both wrong. He’s good regardless with or without Madlib. Cocaine piñata was a classic and without madlib he drops great music consistently. I wouldn’t say one is better than the other but no matter who is producing for him Gibbs keeps it 100 and is underrated in almost every aspect of the rap game. If you disagree you need to listen to more of his material.

    2. Yo gibbs. Factz of life my nigga when a camera is pointing at you it aint for your looks or talent my dude, wrap wrapped!!!
