On November 22, Roc-A-Fella/Def Jam Records will release its latest compilation of longtime label superstar Jay-Z songs. The Hits Collection, Volume 1 will reportedly feature songs from the latter half of the Brooklyn, New York emcee’s career, including “P.S.A.” and “Empire State of Mind” and “99 Problems.”
While Jay-Z has relocated his operations to Sony, via his new Roc Nation imprint, Def Jam is promoting the collection with a new website, JayZHitsCollection.com. Mashable.com has analyzed the site, which is comprehensive to understanding Jay-Z’s musical career and discography, has his videos and career milestones. Jeez, the site looks like a shrine to Jay-Z. I wish they would have done that for Hip-Hop as a whole, instead of just focusing on one guy. Pretty cool though.
