JAY-Z‘s Roc Nation has been sued by Tony Buzbee, the lawyer representing the rap mogul’s anonymous rape accuser, over alleged bribes.
In the latest twist in the explosive legal battle, the Texas-based attorney has filed a lawsuit against Roc Nation and Hov’s legal team, accusing them of soliciting clients to bring cases against him.

According to Deadline, the complaint claims that Roc Nation and co. “conspired to obstruct justice by engaging shadowy operatives to illegally seek out more than two dozen current and former clients of The Buzbee Law Firm to convince those clients to bring frivolous cases against The Buzbee Law Firm.”
Buzbee also claims that clients of his had been approached by people who “pretend to work for the State of Texas” who have “flashed fake badges.”

The lawyer further alleges that he has audio proof of clients being offered upwards of $10,000 to take action against him, and that these incidents started happening after he sent a demand letter to JAY-Z’s lawyers in November.
Roc Nation denied the allegations, saying in a statement: “Tony Buzbee’s baloney lawsuit against Roc Nation is nothing but another sham. It’s a pathetic attempt to distract and deflect attention. This sideshow won’t change the ultimate outcome and true justice will be served soon.”

Buzbee first made allegations of bribery against Roc Nation on social media last week.
He also shared a photo of what appears to be alleged “investigators,” as well as a purported transcript of a recorded conversation between the group of men and one of his clients.

“‘Investigators’ from New York have contacted many of our law firm’s current and former clients,” he wrote. “These investigators aren’t very smart. What they didn’t anticipate was one of the clients decided to record the conversation.
“It’s shocking, and illegal. Here is a portion taken directly from the transcript of the contact.”
The alleged transcript finds one of the investigators telling Buzbee’s client they could “get paid,” citing another person who received $1,000 for agreeing to “get on the right path.”
JAY-Z has also sued Buzbee for alleged extortion over the recently-filed lawsuit that accuses him and Diddy of raping a 13-year-old girl in 2000 — allegations both men have denied.

Hov’s lawyer presented evidence earlier this week refuting the alleged incident, while the woman herself has since admitted that there are inconsistencies in her story.
The anonymous accuser has also since acknowledged that there are inconsistencies in her story.
