JAY-Z‘s drug dealing days have been well documented in his music, and now his old “stash spot” in Brooklyn’s Boerum Hill neighborhood has been put on the market for $1.4million.
According to the New York Post, Hov used to live in apartment 10c at 560 State St. sometime between 1996 and 1997. He had previously mentioned the address in his hit single “Empire State of Mind,” where he raps: “I used to cop in Harlem, all of my Dominicanos/ Right there up on Broadway, pull me back to that McDonald’s/ Took it to my stash spot, 560 State Street/ Catch me in the kitchen like a Simmons with them pastries.”

Jay also visited the now-gentrified property back in 2019, growing emotional as he reminisced about all the trouble he got into as a young drug dealer, despite telling himself that he had “made it” by living in that apartment.
“But I knew something wasn’t right about the things I was doing,” he said. “My conscious was alive. So I just decided to let that street life go and just really focus on music. This is what I love to do. If I had my choice to be successful — to be successful in the street or be successful making music, it would be making music.”
He continued: “So let me treat it like that and give it my all. And when I did, it happened pretty much right away for me.”
The open layout of the unit encompasses a living room, a dining area and a powder room on the first level, the listing reads, according to the Post, with the primary bedroom offering a king-size bed and a big custom closet, while the second bedroom provides versatility could serve as a bedroom, nursery or home office.
The building itself also includes a secluded 6,000-square-foot shared courtyard offers an outdoor kitchen with sinks, a refrigerator, and a gas-fired barbecue pit.
The Notorious B.I.G.’s old apartment was sold at a similar price back in 2021. Located in Brooklyn’s Fort Green neighborhood, Biggie owned the pad back in 1994, the same year he released his debut Ready to Die — and lived there with his wife Faith Evans and her daughter Chyna Tahjere Griffin.
The home was featured in the 2017 A&E documentary Biggie: The Life of Notorious B.I.G.
Located in Brooklyn’s Fort Greene neighborhood, the two-bedroom, two-bathroom apartment is just blocks away from Christopher “Notorious B.I.G.” Wallace Way, the Clinton Hill street named after the late rap legend.

In other JAY-Z news, the rap mogul was seen supporting his wife Beyoncé during her recent performance in Paris, and at one point was spotted vibing with Megan Thee Stallion.
This was the same concert where 11-year-old Blue Ivy Carter — the eldest daughter of JAY-Z and Beyoncé — made her dancing debut onstage with her mama during “Black Parade.”
