Meek Mill’s “What’s Free” record off his Championships album is causing a stir across the internet — and it’s not even 24 hours old.
As Rick Ross braces for potential backlash from both LGBTQ activists and (what’s left) of Tekashi 6ix9ine’s camp, JAY-Z raised some eyebrows from those who have been paying attention to his cold war with Kanye West.
On one of the earlier lines, Jigga spits,” No red hat, don’t ‘Michael and Prince’ me and Ye/They separate you when you got Michael and Prince’s DNA,” which is a clear-cut nod to Yeezy’s MAGA fiasco from a couple of months ago but also speaks on building past differences.
As the lyric began to spread like wildfire across social media, JAY-Z broke his year and a half Twitter silence on Twitter to reveal, The line clearly meant don’t pit me against my brothers no matter what our differences are (red hat) now go pick up Meek album,” while pointing out what he deemed to be the album’s biggest triumph: “Drake and Meek on there together.”
Besides the JAY-Z, Rozay and Drake features, Meek Mill’s Championships also boasts appearances from Future, Young Thug, 21 Savage and Kodak Black.
For a deeper look into the reference Jigga made about Michael Jackson and Prince, revisit the Quincy Jones Breaks Down Prince & Michael Jackson’s Beef DXBreakdown below.

Thought this was pretty obvious, but slow people always need shit spelled out in crayon for them.
Idk sounds to me like jay is saying half the truth.
Nice track. But rappers still can’t top Biggie 20 years later. I still prefer WHATS BEEF?
Beef is the flesh of a cow, bull, or ox, used as food.
He’s only talking about race bc it’s trendy. Neither he nor his blonde wig sporting wife care about black peoples or really anyone else unless it helps them somehow. In general if an artist just started talking about race a few years ago they are just exploiting race relations to generate buzz.
He’s been talking about race for 20 plus years. If you we’re informed on this subect, you’d know Jay-Z hasn’t really changed his message since his first album. If you were from Brooklyn, you’d know he’s been an activist for our generation since the 90’s. I was raised a few blocks away from Marcy. People there don’t feel the way you do about this topic.
How many families has your favorite rapper helped? How many black millionaires has your favorite rapper produced that AREN’T rappers? Do you know about the Sean Carter Foundation? That’s not a new thing. Are you informed about the basis of his lawsuit against the Iconix brand? You should if you’re going to have an opinion of his stance on race.
Why do so many black men on the internet hate a black man that you can clearly see is helping our community in real life? Even in his rap, he’s not saying anything that isn’t good for you – but it seems that just because you wrongly think he’s new to this train if thought, you can slander the positive message he’s putting out. It’s sad. Please do your research brother. Be informed. Be great.
Your logic is flawed. Every artist that talks about race relations has a starting point, so discounting them for only starting recently doesn’t make sense. Furthermore, why would Jay-Z one of the most famous rappers of all time need to talk to about race to generate buzz? The man is married to Beyonce one tweet from her is all the buzz pretty much anyone needs
Wasn’t he he first to sport the Black Republican wave back in the early 2000’s
Are you trying to imply Kanye isn’t in the sunken place with your comment after he spent the better half of 20 minutes dickriding Donald Trump, a man with a long history of racism?
