Billboard magazine has just unveiled its first-ever Power 100 list, with Live Nation chairman ranked at No. 1. But further down the list are a handful of Hip Hop figures, including Jay-Z, Beyonce, Birdman and more.
Jay and Bey, who recently had their first child Blue Ivy, jointly place at No. 13. Hov is honored for having the most No. 1 albums on the Billboard 200, in addition to his business ventures, while Beyonce has sold more than 29 million units from solo and Destiny’s Child album sales.
Bryan “Birdman” Williams and Ronald “Slim” Williams, founders of Cash Money Records, rank at No. 25. “We got so much more we need to do,” says Baby. “We dominate rap, but we need to dominate R&B. We need to dominate pop, gospel, country-we’re a brand, so we should be able to put out all these different types of music. We just got to keep grinding.”

If not because of Peer to peer music sharing(Myspace, torrents and all), Em would have sold way more album. U can compare his figures now with that of his early day.
2005-2009, Em did drop a single album or do a Tour, but he was among hip hop’s cash king every single year. That proves that if Em disclose his earning, a lot of you will get surprise. He never owes tax like wayne and the rest, but Wayne earns an average of $20m every year.

I love Eminem but he did not start his own label from the very beginning. He had Dre co-sign him in. Not that its a bad thing but Jay with business partners opened up there own label thats business savy and impressive.
Eminem came out with 7 albums. Out of the 7 6 were number 1. Jay on the other hand has had 11 number 1 solo albums.

Record sales aside, Jay is a businessman. His net worth alone goes beyond simply pedaling albums. Eminem is no slouch, but aside from one movie, he’s made the bulk of his money through music. Great for him. He’s probably got $60 million in the bank. Not bad for a poor kid from Detroit who can basically disappear for as long as he wants, then pop up and be accepted again.

The list is Billboards power 100, notice birdman made list but not Wayne, its not how many records you sale only its everything combined and EM is not well versatile in business, he make records, hardly tours, doesn’t have endorsements, ink big deals. A better argument would be Dre, jay and Diddy no they all have labels, endorsements and make money even if they don’t sell records and if Em is to compete he will have to do something, like headphones, commercials or something else.
