Jay Rock has provided more insight into his upcoming Redemption album, sharing a tracklist that features J. Cole, SZA, Future, Kendrick Lamar and Jeremih.
There had been reports of a “dream” collaboration with JAY-Z, but it looks like the feature is either unlisted or didn’t make the album’s final cut. “King’s Dead,” which was previously released on the Black Panther: The Album with a Kendrick feature, doesn’t formally list him on the version in this new tracklist.
Production comes from Sounwave, Mike WiLL Made-It, Boi-1da and Hit-Boy, among others.
Rock also shared the album’s opening cut, “The Bloodiest,” ahead of the June 15 release.

Jay Rock is beginning the rollout for his next album. The Top Dawg Entertainment artist has announced his next LP will be titled Redemption and is scheduled to be released on June 15. The West Coast rhymer revealed the news along with the cover artwork in an Instagram post on Monday (May 21).
Last week, Rock excited fans by dropping a new single titled “Win.” It is unclear if the song will appear on the album.
Redemption will be Rock’s first LP since 2015’s 90059. In a January interview, he shared a few details about the project, confirming a Kendrick Lamar guest appearance as well as noting producers such as Cardo and Sounwave were among the key contributors.
“The sound is crazy,” he said. “I don’t wanna too much talk about it. I just wanna drop it and let it go from there. Trust me, y’all won’t be disappointed.”

Who????…
c’mon man get rid from those trapper cats with colorful pouches and listen to some real rap
Sit down shorty, have a lollypop and go bob yo head to that mumble rap shit.
BTW Jay Rock King’s Dead single is certified platinum. This album is going to be crazy.
That song may be popular, but it wasn’t that good. It was modern radio junk. Jay rock has so much potential to be a great old school style rap artist.
Can’t wait. I’m still bumping 90059.
Lose the trap music formula because that “Win” song was trash. Trap music is comeplwtely worthless! Bring back dope music with authenticity.
Still ain’t released anything solid since Follow Me Home. This will be the last chance I give him.
So you only gave Jay Rock two chances to impress you then? Because he’s only put out two albums so far (FMH, 90059). Do you give every artist two chances? If so, you’re one tough music listener to please.
Bro, if it takes 5 years to release two albums, then sure. I’ll give an artists 5 years to show me they can make music as good as they used to. But I doubt he will. He’s on that new school wave. And it’s not very good. Rock fans want hard Westcoast rap
Hope it’s more in vein to “Follow me Home” than “90059”. I want some west coast shit like his verse on The Game’s song “Gang bang Anyway”.
Fuck with Mitchy Slick G Perico Daz still has it minus the Kanye bullshit. Lil blood Philthy rich lil rue Stalin Livewire etc out of Oakland goes hard too
Hold up wait a minute let me put some seasoning on this gumbo!
Dope.
can’t wait for this one, 90059 is up there with To Pimp A Butterfly for albums released in 2015.
Lost yo damn mind.
o for 2 . two mediocre joints .this dude cant pick beats
I see he couldn’t pull an Ab Soul feature… Disappointed.
yeah he should have the entire Black Hippy squad on here…
TDE and GOOD music are shitting all over OVO and YMCMB. I’m so happy. Hahahaha. Releasing an album a day before Nas’ new shit with Kanye Beats is a mistake IMO.
Bro. This album is trash lol. Tde is worse than ever. They were amazing some years back. This is easily rocks worst album. Damn. Is Kendrick worst album. Absouls do what thou wilt is his worst album. Only consistently great rapper they have now is Q. Kendrick shit has sounded like some pop, Drake like, future like garbage. Shit little girls listen to.
I was a huge fan of tde since 2009. I’ve followed black hippy for almost ten years now. They all peaked at the same time frame.
Jay rock: follow me home
Kendrick: section 80/gkmc
Absoul: control system
Schoolboy q: oxymoron.
Each of the albums has yet to be topped by their other work. To be far though, 90059 was nice, TPAB was njce, and so was blank face. Absouls last couple of albums have been trash. Rock and Kendrick new shit sucks in my opinion. It’s not hiphop. Its radio pop
I agree that the album’s that have followed 2011-2014 have been more watered down with less overall quality, but that can be attributed to the streaming era to a large extent. Isaiah has been putting out dope projects, and I think that blank face is the best album since tpab and definetly better than oxy. Song for song TDE is still unfuckwittable as a collective in the mainstream by modern standards.
Very disappointed in this album. It sounds all radio and poppy like Kendrick has lately. Jay rock was always a gritty, gangster west coast old-school style. This isn’t any of that. This is radio music.
Loved follow me home. Hated 90059 at first til it was the only cd I had in my car one day so it kept playing and the more I listened to it the more I liked it. Hope this album tops those with songs with j Cole and Jake one. I hope this album is solid.
Weakest link from the TDE camp. He is just like The Game a cheap ripoff of the 90’s rappers. No originality or creativity.
Are you dumb Jay Rock no.2 with absoul on the camp
Was, this album does not show number 2.
what in the actual fuck TDE, how can you ruin someone like Jay Rock like this, motherfuckers
Damn, this album was def below my expectations. Was feeling 90059 so much more. Not feeling that new direction, TDE trying to be too poppy lately. Somehow since last Ab Soul album it all went downhill.
Garbage TDE production been weak lately. they need to open up and find new producers . hungry onez. they sound too comfortable but the world aint comfortable
Get the fuck about my way, yo.
up out* fuckn autocorrect
ya really hating, that Nas is all preachy and shit,I thought I was listening to a twenty minute Martin Luther King sample(J Edgar Hoovers black is more controversial than the media misconstrued implication that the whole 400 years of slavery is a choice thing…. This right here though, definitely contemporary album of the year, GREASY, GRITTY, GRIMEY STREET MUSIC, SOLID PLATINUM AND GOLD PRODUCTION, GREAT HOOKS WELL LIVED AND THOUGHT OUT WRITING,u can hear Rock’s pain and hunger on this one, definitely a personal reality based album, I love it in the wake of all this fake trolling and attention whoring going on in hip hop,(All that back and forth makes me hot sometimes, wanna see somebody get knocked out, just box 1 time, shit!) Redemption is Lawry’s seasoning, to Damn’s Pulitzer winning Grey Po-upon, I’am not stupid, but I still don’t understand that song Pride on Damn even though I admire it, but no this, this right here is right up my alley, not the overrated Narco fueled poetic yet flawed fantasy lyricism of Pusha T’s Daytona, no this is music, made specifically for those in the struggle, the pains there the nostalgia of the ghetto and the brotherhood and disappointments of gang life, BITCH WHERE!!! this is Kendrick influenced but only in terms of flow like every project after to pimp a butterfly, remember Jay Rocks the veteran of TDE tho …. so who influenced who,… 5 stars condensed review…. Hiphop DX Id like to intern for a second opinion review section
