Two of hip-hop’s most acclaimed producers have teamed up to bring the “Champion Sound.” Detriot’s Jay Dee, former Tribe Called Quest and Slum Village producer and Mablib, the prolific producer behind Lootpack and Yesterdays New Quintet.
The two producers also spend some time on the mic (most notably Madlib and his alter ego Quasimoto). While both split time on the beats and rhymes, there are several guests such as Talib Kweli, Percee P, Frank ‘n Dank and Guilty Simpson. Don’t be fooled by the bootleg that has been floating around on the net since April, “Champion Sound” features very few songs contained on the bootleg. The album drops October 7th on Stones Throw.
