Janet Jackson has a kid? According to Janet’s ex-brother-in-law, this is true. Janet Jackson and James Debarge had a brief marriage in 1984.
Their three month marriage came when Janet was only 18 years old. It was annulled a year later and it was mostly a private affair. Later, it was known that they eloped because of stress from family members.
The relationship was lost because Jackson claimed his drug habits were too much of a problem. James’ brother, Young Debarge now claims Janet and his brother had a child together.
Young Debarge appeared on Hot 97 in New York to state what he feels needs to be heard. According to him, Jackson and James Debarge have a child named Renee who is now 18 years old. Reportedly, Rebbie Jackson, Janet’s oldest sister is taking care of the daughter.
Although there may be truth to the story, some claim Debarge is simply trying to make money off of the situation and Janet‘s big name. Debarge has a new album that he just finished. He also claims Renee’s a “wonderful singer.”
Ironically enough, Jackson married another Rene later in life. In 1991, Janet Jackson married Rene Elizondo Jr.
How does Renee, the alleged daughter of Jackson feel about her mother? Many can speculate, but not many know the truth because she hasn’t talked about it. “She hasn’t really revealed that, but I’m sure that there’s some feelings there. It’s only natural that you wonder about what is and how it’s come to be that way,” Debarge said.
Jackson herself did not have the best relationship with her father. After he told Janet not to call him “Dad,” she was devastated. “I will never forget that. I was really young, about 6 or 7, and as a kid, that was very hurtful to me. I went through a lot, from age 15 to about 19 years. I was very young. I used to hurt so badly that I’d ask God why, what have I done to deserve this?” she once said.
Janet Jackson’s people did not deny this rumor. They claimed Jackson had no comment on the matter of the child. She is currently dating Jermaine Dupri and working on her next album.
