On Friday (December 1), Really Jaewon linked up with the My Train of Thought podcast for a brief chat followed by a freestyle over his father’s iconic “Put Ya Hands Up” beat, demonstrating his abilities as a second-generation MC.

A few months back, Jaewon shared who he thinks his basketball parallel is and it has a lot to do with which player he compares his father to.

During a chat with DJ Superstar Jay on SiriusXM over the fall, he talked about his basketball equivalent and recognized that he’s a product of his predecessor’s place in the game.

“You know what’s crazy — I feel like Kiyan more than anything,” he explained, referring to Carmelo Anthony’s son. “Like I feel like Kiyan, I feel like it’s other people kids who’s like the Bronnys and all of that.”

Funnily enough, he did clarify right after that he doesn’t think of anyone as Bronny James, then went on to elaborate on his father’s own athletic twin and said: “I feel like my pops is the Melo of the industry, like he don’t really get his just due. Like he probably won’t get it till it’s all over.”
