Jadakiss regrets playing basketball in a pair of sneakers he didn’t know were worth north of five figures at the time and he still hasn’t let the pain go to this day.

The Yonkers legend appeared on a ComplexCon panel last month alongside Jim Jones, DJ Clark Kent, Joe LaPuma and Vashtie breaking down their favorite sneakers released in 2022.

Kiss recalled a time at his twins’ third or fourth birthday when he mistakenly hooped in a pair of Off-White x Air Force 1 Low ’07 ‘MoMA’ and he unknowingly beat up the Black Virgil Abloh-designed sneakers to the point they lost a ton of value.

“At my twins’ third or fourth birthday party I didn’t know what it was because he didn’t tell me,” Jada said in disgust pointing at Clark Kent. “I choked them shits full court basketball in em. And then when I finished with em, one of my young re-sellers came up to me, ‘What did you do?’

“He showed me [the price], I wanted to cry. I was going hard too… I obliterated them, dog — obliterated them, Clark.”

Currently, on sneaker vendor StockX, the Off-White x Air Force 1 Low ’07 ‘MoMA’s are listed for a range between $9,000 and over $22,000 depending on the size.

Fortunately for Jada, he was put on the friends and family list when Louis Vuitton shipped out various pairs of the rare Nike Air Force 1’s designed by the late Virgil Abloh earlier this year. Kiss received a pair of the baby blue colorway while others such as DJ Khaled and Fat Joe also received their own pair.

Virgil Abloh tragically passed away in November 2021 after a private battle with a rare and aggressive form of cancer the two years prior.  Virgil was appointed artistic director of Louis Vuitton’s menswear collection in 2018, becoming the first Black man to hold the post.

In November Jadakiss joined DJ Khaled in the latest Air Jordan advertisement promoting his We The Best 5’s. “They ain’t believe in us, MJ did,” DJ Khaled proclaims before passing the torch to Jadakiss, who proceeds to spit a set of fiery bars about the kicks.
