“Internet Moguls” Seek Star Rapper To Unveil Strategy

Two entrepreneurs known as “Internet Moguls” announced Friday to HipHopDX.com that they plan to apply their track record of online successes in other ventures to the rap industry. The duo of Daniel Taylor and Greg Berry is presently seeking a proven artist in the rap arena to offer their consultation in setting up a seven-figure, direct to buyer web business.

Speaking about their successful ventures and familiarity in the marketplace, the group explained. “If you notice the music production industry online, you’ll notice that thousands of music producers have their beats online, and are exchanging with artists, making money – not at the major level, but at the mid-scale level. I’m the one who pretty much taught all the producers online, how to sell music, how to market themselves, [through] LiveOffBeats.com. I run one of the biggest music production newsletters online right now [too.] I pioneered all that,Daniel Taylor told DX. Taylor, with partner Greg Berry, also run WearYourCity.com.

Berry added his own resume. “I started at 18, 19 getting into my own businesses. My first business I owned was a food distribution business. I bought locally, used the power of the Internet, and sold nationally. I pretty much pioneered that movement, because not a lot of food industry companies were getting online at all. They were all local shops.Berry is also active in consulting, global partnerships in food distribution, as well as construction businesses.

Speaking specifically to Hip Hop’s online potential, Taylor claimed, “The Internet connects to the whole world – a global marketplace. [For an artist], people will come to find you. That’ll save you from actually having to put up billboards and do shows and really do things which reach a small amount of people, as opposed to online, the whole world can come to you, buy from you, and exchange money immediately. That’s the future. That’s where we’re at right now.

Rather than traditional grassroots marketing and promotion for sales, Berry maintains that online, the means and the end can be one and the same. “With the reach that [artists] have, reaching hundreds of millions of people that know your name [is possible with the Internet]. Doing shows and selling CDs, you’re cutting out a lot of those people that don’t have access.

Despite a growing potential for all levels of artists, “Internet Moguls” are seeking a flagship, established artist to prove their vision and execution. “It’s already being done with people who aren’t famous. Hip Hop is a niche market, although it’s a very big one. You’ve got guys who come on, sell their products, and make millions of dollars. One guy made [millions with a partner], who unleashed a marketing course in sales, in one day. Those are big numbers, but it’s nothing compared to somebody with the fame of a Ludacris or a Jay-Z. With that type of reach, you can sell whatever. The artist can, just by using their name and voice, without all the middle-men and confusion. It’s live and direct,” said Taylor. Berry added, “We couldn’t do much with somebody who doesn’t already have a fanbase, and at least a couple hundred thousand people who know who they are.

The stardom also helps justify the added content, said Berry. “We’re going for somebody who already has a rapport with masses of people. We’re gonna take him, and put him on a personal level with this [online sales industry]. It’s all transparent.” The salable content will also reportedly include video, tutorial and digital features.

We’re gonna show the whole industry that there is a better way out there, and an answer to the problem [of] generating money. Without making money, how can you help the communities? How can you give back? All in all, Hip Hop is helping society. If we can help Hip Hop raise more money, give more back, then that’s what we’re here to do. The first artist that wants to work with us and does it, we’ll set the example for the whole industry,” justified Daniel Taylor.

With their own site, DandGGlobal.com [click here], Greg Berry urged interested and serious parties to contact the duo. “You can see what we do, what we have done. We’re not new to this game, it’s just been away from the Hip Hop community, so we’re bringing something that’s already proven successful.” He added that although the duo is seeking a consultation fee approaching $100,000, that the money is guaranteed with money back if not satisfied.
