Much like fellow rapper Method Man [click to read], Nas has apparently failed to pay his taxes.
According to a report by TMZ.com, the famed Queensbridge rapper owes $2,584,206.31 for unpaid taxes in 2006 and 2007.
This is the latest financial problem for the rapper, who was recently in the midst of a heated divorce lawsuit with R&B singer Kelis. In the suit, it was alleged that the rapper made nearly $150,000 per month, and spends over $70,000 per month [click to read].
It is unclear whether the two are still embroiled in a legal battle, as the former couple were spotted together last month, acting very amicably towards one another [click to read].

UPDATE: The legal battle is still in effect. This morning, Nas entered a not-guilty plea to contempt of court, according to TMZ.com. Kelis’ legal staff has said that Nas has failed to deliver the court-ordered $200,000 child support.
In March the judge will rule on the verdict. If Nas is found guilty, he is at risk of serving jail time.
In related news, Kelis has signed with Interscope Records since the last October hearing.
