An aspiring African artist who goes by Show Yoh went viral earlier this month after he proudly showed off his 50 Cent back tattoo. But the inked portrait of the Get Rich or Die Tryin’ rapper was received terribly online, with many shocked at the poor quality of the artwork.
Even 50 Cent couldn’t help himself from commenting. On Friday (May 27), hours after the photo began to go viral, 50 Cent shared the photo of the fan’s back and demanded answers with, “WTF, you go do boy? I need the Best portrait Tattoo artist to fix this. @showyoh237 who did this shit man?”
Capitalizing on the moment, Show Yoh has decided to turn the original photo into a non-fungible token (NFT). The rapper announced the idea with an Instagram post on Monday (May 30), writing, “My Father and Mentor @50CENT said ‘he needs the best portrait tattoo artist to fix my tattoo.’ I am ready to fix it to honor him.
“That said, I have decided to sell the original photo of the tattoo of my Idol on my back as an NFT. I have listed the photo on @withfoundation as “Father and Son Tattoo” (FADANSON) with the link in my bio. It would be an honour if my idol and mentor @50CENT places the first bid on the photo. Together we can do this. Please share and tag my Father @50CENT.”

Show Yoh originally shared the image to his Instagram page on Wednesday (May 25) with the caption, “Celebrate ur role models and Show them true love, so that you can also be Celebrate too in future! Showing true love to my father @50cent. My mentor in the music world. Keep watching Pop CORN.”
Once he realized 50 Cent had re-posted the image, Show Yoh was elated and more than willing to have another tattoo artist take a stab at it. As he wrote in a follow-up post, ” Ohhh God!!!! G WTF!!!! Can’t believed what my eyes are seeing @50cent ma dad and all the way career just posted. I DID ALL THIS FOR LOVE OF THE FATHER AND INSPIRATION U HAVE IMPACTED IN ME. An YESS I’M READY TO FIX THIS ON GAD.”
NFTs are extremely popular these days. In 2021, a photo of the dismal cheese sandwich made famous by Ja Rule’s failed Fyre Festival was also turned into an NFT.

The photo, snapped by Trevor DeHaas, went viral shortly after he took it in 2017. At the time, he described the meal as “literally bread, cheese, and a salad with dressing.” The estimated price was $80,000. Check out the OG photo below.
