Public Enemy hypeman and multi-instrumentalist Flavor Flav had previously questioned the paternity of his former manager Kate Gammell’s three-year-old son Jordan.
But in 2019, Flav agreed to a paternity test, which proved Flav is 100 percent Jordan’s father. Child support and a custody arrangement are reportedly in place and Flav has been coming around more often, even teaching Jordan how to play the drums.
According to TMZ,Flavor Flav has also spoken to Gammell about Jordan taking his last name — Drayton — and filed legal documents to make it official. A hearing is expected to take place later this year.
The 63-year-old Hip Hop legend has a total of eight children, with Jordan being the youngest. But it’s been a tumultuous road to get to a place where Flavor Flav even admitted to fathering a child with Gammell. In April 2020, she resorted to selling off his merch in an effort to get the financial burden off her shoulders.

“When I told him I was pregnant with his child, Flavor let me go and I was left with thousands of dollars of Flavor Flav merch that I had purchased with my own money,” Gammell explained to HipHopDX at the time. “Jordan is not getting any child support from Flavor and I needed money for Jordan’s everyday needs.
“So, I decided to pull out the merch and sell it to help my son and give a percentage to Children’s Hospital. I doubt I will recoup the money that I put into this, but I don’t care, as any money towards Jordan’s needs is important. The support for Jordan has been fantastic so far.”
Gammell worked as Flavor Flav’s manager for a few years and juggled several aspects of his career, including the merch store. The two initially met when Gammell was an assistant for Public Enemy frontman Chuck D.
