Hollywood A-listers flocked to the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City on Monday evening (May 2) for the 2022 Met Gala. The extravagant event was a chance for celebrities to don outlandish outfits meticulously crafted by fashion designers such as Versace, Gucci, Burberry and the late Virgil Abloh.
This year’s theme was “Gilded Glamour and White Tie” — and the stars delivered. Kim Kardashian wore Marilyn Monroe’s iconic dress — the one she famously sang “Happy Birthday, Mr. President” in at John F. Kennedy’s birthday fundraiser in 1962, while her beau Pete Davidson opted for a black suit and sunglasses.
Megan Thee Stallion stepped out in a golden gown with sculpted feather-like shoulders by Moschino and attended the event alongside the brand’s creative director Jeremy Scott, while Cardi B a rocked a Versace dress, which was made from a mile of golden chains.
Nicki Minaj, who made her first appearance at the Met Gala since 2019, sported a custom Burberry look by Ricardo Tisci which featured a black leather baseball cap, tiered gown and sparkling body crystals.
