Metro Boomin is one of the biggest producers in the game today. He’s held in high regard by so many people, and his résumé makes him a shoo-in for a Verzuz matchup. But Young Metro thinks he needs more time to even think about battling someone.

On Wednesday (April 13), Metro Boomin took to his Twitter to respond to a fan that wanted to see him participate in Verzuz. According to the 28-year-old producer, he’s still relatively fresh in the industry and not ready to do it.

“Lol thanks but I need 20 more years in the game before I do a Verzuz,” Metro said.

The Grammy Award winner has already clocked in 13 years of work under his belt with four collaborative albums, three mixtapes, one studio album and a ridiculously long list of producer credits. With those facts, it’s pretty wild seeing Metro say he needs to do 20 more years of service before stepping foot in that ring.

He’s not wasting time adding two more decades under his belt. Metro is working on his next studio album, tentatively titled Heroes & Villains, and he’s also prepping another joint album, this time with Lil Durk.

Last year, fans went bonkers after hearing rumors Durkio and Metro were linking up for an album. A promotional billboard with the title No Auto Durk added more fuel to the fire, but the pair kept quiet until last month when Metro answered a fan on Twitter asking for the project.

“@MetroBoomin ever dropping your durk collab album,” the fan wrote, to which Metro replied, “Yes still otw we spoke about it the other day.”
