The long wait for Coi Leray‘s debut album is almost over. On Monday (March 28), the 24-year-old rapper took to Instagram to announce her Trendsetter LP will arrive on April 8 via 1801 Records/Republic Records.

Leray also shared the album’s cover art, which shows her bending over and clutching her cheeks with a look of horror that evokes the classic Home Alone movie poster. The trendsetter herself is surrounded by colorful cartoon drawings of planets, stars and koi fish.

“I just want to finally let y’all bxtchs know, ain’t nobody fw me in that booth,” she wrote on Instagram. “This will be one of the biggest female artist albums in the world and I put my life on it. it’s not a race, it’s a Trendsetter Marathon. welcome to Trendsetter World BTCH!”

Coi Leray also shared a short video recapping the rocky road to her debut album, from signing her major label deal in early 2018, facing backlash for her XXL Freshman freestyle in 2020 to proving her critics wrong with hit singles such as “No More Parties” and “Twinnem.”

It’s Leray’s latest single, though, that could be her biggest yet. Following its release earlier this month, the Nicki Minaj-assisted “Blick Blick” debuted at No. 37 on this week’s Billboard Hot 100, marking Coi’s highest charting single so far.

The high-powered collaboration also topped Billboard’s Digital Song Sales chart, earning Coi her first No. 1 hit and Nicki’s tenth on the chart, the most by any female rapper.

Trendsetter serves as the follow-up to 2020’s Now or Never EP, which boasted appearances from Gunna, Fetty Wap and Sevyn Streeter. Coi Leray previously released the Everythingcoz EP in 2019 followed by EC2 in 2020.
