Latto is gearing up for the release of her 777 album next week (March 25). While in the midst of her media tour, the Atlanta-bred rapper stopped by Big Boy’s Neighborhood where she voiced her frustrations with clearance issues for a certain feature on her album.
Latto talked about the struggles of dealing with men throughout the music industry who have thrown hurdles in her direction while navigating her 777 album to the finish line.
“Like I’m clearing my album right now and it’s been difficult to deal with these men. They don’t know how to keep it business… It’s a feature on my album it was difficult to clear. They tryna drop they nuts on me because I won’t respond to a DM.”
The Shade Room reposted the clip and DreamDoll co-signed Latto’s comments and admitted she’s going through the same situation with her own upcoming single.
“Whewwww !!!!! She ain’t tell 1 lie,” The Bronx native wrote. “I been saying this for years, but yet they would go jump on a song with another man with no problem and it won’t be nearly as difficult to what they put us women through for clearances and fts. I’m dealing with the same situation with my single.”
Latto’s “Big Energy” single has been surging up the Billboard Hot 100 heading into her 777 project, where it sits at a new peak of No. 14 this week. The 23-year-old also teamed up with 21 Savage earlier in March for “Wheelie.”
