NBA YoungBoy returned to Instagram on Wednesday (February 9) to take more jabs at his record label. The Baton Rouge rapper accused Atlantic Records of “blackballing” him earlier in February following the release of his Colors mixtape, which debuted at No. 2 on the Billboard 200.

“Why black ball me I’m the good guy !!!??” he wrote. “I was going #1 two weeks straight with a mixtape so they took it down off the charts. I don’t give a fuck you still can’t stop me don’t sign to Atlantic if you a artist they not gone support you especially if you live a certain way.”

This week, NBA YoungBoy’s thoughts remained the same as he urged artists to stay away from Atlantic Records upon his return to Instagram.

“Don’t sign to Atlantic,” he wrote. “Trust me.” The 22-year-old rapper also shared a new song called “Free Meechy.”

NBA YoungBoy isn’t the only rapper to call out Atlantic Records recently. On February 1, Meek Mill took to Twitter to air out his issues with the label and accused them of “raping” him out of managing Roddy Ricch.

“So look I made Atlantic records 100’s of millions and let them rape me out out Roddy a artist they came to me about in jail,” he tweeted. “they still saying I can’t drop music until 9 months after my last album got blackballed just wrapped buildings and Nina art with talent … Roddy my youngin still …. But that label seperated us instantly when the millions came in from him… same thing they tried to do with me and rozay … it takes a long time to catch up too because most of em tied in for the love of some money …artist scared to speak up.”

He continued, “They didn’t put nothing into expensive pain and then said I can’t drop another project for 9 months at the end of my contract after I made them 100’s of millions ….. how would can anybody survive that … most rappers can’t speak because they depend on these companies ‘I don’t’ If I didn’t have millions I’d prolly do something crazy …. In April 2021, PnB Rock revealed he wanted to buy out his record deal with Atlantic Records due to the lack of money he’s made since signing to the label.

“@atlanticrecords I WANT A BUYOUT OF THIS BS ASS DEAL YALL GOT ME IN !!!” he said at the time. “YALL BEEN MAKIN MILLIONS OFF ME FOR YEARS HAVENT GAVE ME ONE MIL YET !!!”
