Once upon a time, Kanye West traveled across the pond to London’s famed Abbey Road Studios in September of 2005 to record a medley of tracks from his first two albums in front of about 300 lucky fans while backed by a 17-person all-female string orchestra.
The live performance was ultimately packaged into a 13-track project titled Late Orchestration after his second studio album and released internationally on April 24, 2006. Lupe Fiasco, GLC, John Legend and Consequence all make guest appearances throughout the show.
While only being made into a CD and DVD, the live project never ultimately found its way onto streaming services until fans noticed it quietly popping up via Universal Music Group Recordings on Tuesday night (February 8). The release comes just days ahead of Netflix’s Jeen-Yuhs documentary surrounding Kanye West’s life on February 16.
The compilation album blending Hip Hop and classical music includes hits such as “Touch The Sky,” “Through the Wire,” “All Falls Down,” “Jesus Walks” and “Gold Digger.”
