When Rihanna and A$AP Rocky revealed they were expecting their first child on Monday (January 31), the internet was ablaze with Drake memes.

Trolls – and Akademiks – all tried to guess how Drizzy was feeling. The most widely circulated meme was an eight-second clip pulled from a reaction video Drake made in 2019 after the Toronto Raptors won the NBA Championship.

“What do you mean breathe breathe?” Drizzy says in the clip as a moody piano plays in the background. “Don’t tell me to breathe … Yo bring me a shot, bring me a shot.” The audio from the aforementioned clip also previously trended as a sound on TikTok last October.

Drizzy’s feelings for RiRi date all the way back to 2014 when he called the singer and fashion mogul his “ultimate fantasy” in an interview with Rolling Stone. Drake continued to vocalize his romantic interest in Rihanna and in August 2016, presented the pop star with MTV’s Video Vanguard Award by declaring his love officially and publicly on the MTV stage.
