Wale has a very interesting relationship with Twitter. He regularly goes back and forth with fans on the popular social media app and he’s not one to put a filter on his thoughts. That recently happened when a fan decided to give their opinion on Wale’s label Maybach Music Group allegedly holding him back.

On Wednesday (October 13), Wale caught a stray bullet from the fan who felt the “Poke It Out” rapper sold his soul to MMG at the expense of his creativity and integrity.

“@Wale had so much potential man it almost hurts the way business is run, nobody wanna sell their soul or their creativity for a platform..but choices be so limited,” the fan tweeted.

Wale retweeted the post with a laughing emoji and called his fans wild for whoever shared those same thoughts.

The fan returned with another tweet claiming Wale was his favorite artist but understands the sacrifice he had to make to elevate his platform. He said the D.C. rapper’s lyrics are uninspired but hopes that changes on Folarin 2.

Wale disagreed, writing back, “I wrote some of the best songs of my life wit MMG. U just made this up . But I luv u . See u 10-22 #Folarin2 brought to u by the UNTOUCHABLE Maybach Music.”

The fan returned with a third tweet answering someone who asked if they think Wale’s MMG projects aren’t lyrically deep. The guy believed they weren’t and didn’t see the same creative output on previous projects. Wale clearly had enough and fired off one more tweet.

“Imma let u have it,” Wale said in response. “This really not the super Hiphop take u think it is . Golden salvation bricks dc or nothing .. all of them under MMG . This take stinks . But ur entitled to ur opinion .”

Wale won’t let someone on Twitter rain on his parade, especially with Folarin 2 right around the corner. Last Summer Wale went on a spicy rant regarding his “G.O.A.T.” status ahead of the new project.

“When I say I’m one of the greatest rappers of all time. I mean it with all my heart,” he tweeted. “I’ve put out more QUALITY music than most. My deep cuts are crazy. My singles all got plaques. Decade plus. THAT is why I’m heavy on the gratitude.”

Wale signed with Rick Ross’s Maybach Music Group imprint in 2011. He dropped his debut album, AttentionDeficit, prior to his signing. Once he called MMG home, Wale dropped five different albums including two No. 1 albums in 2013’s The Gifted and 2015’s The Album About Nothing.
