There has been an outpouring of love and support from the Hip Hop community following the tragic death of beloved actor Michael K. Williams. MKW passed away on Monday (September 6) at 54 years old when he was found in his Brooklyn penthouse dead from a suspected drug overdose.

Plenty of tributes have made their way to social media with artists sharing their unique experiences with the Brooklyn native and appreciations for The Wire actor.

Michael K. Williams is currently nominated for an Emmy Award for his role in Lovecraft Country. In addition to starring in The Wire, he also flourished in movies and television shows such as Boardwalk Empire, 12 Years A SlaveThe Gambler, Law & Order and more.
