Drake and Kanye West had Hip Hop fans talking all about their renewed beef and respective studio albums. Drake’s Certified Lover Boyand Kanye West’s Donda broke streaming records and have left fans debating who has the better album.
On Monday (September 6), Hip Hop mogul Diddy took time out of his vacation in Capri, Italy, to share on his thoughts regarding Drake and Kanye’s respective albums. Diddy is feeling both albums and claims both rappers are at the top of their game when it comes to creativity.
“I listened to both these albums, and first of all, I just wanna say that you guys are true kings of creativity,” Diddy said about his younger peers while listening to Kanye’s “Pure Souls” featuring Roddy Ricch in the background. “Both of you guys are so special and necessary. Thank y’all for the inspiration. I wanna make sure that what hip-hop knows is the reach and the power that we have. I really want to take my hat off to both of these brothers for sharing their truth.”

Diddy went on to say the albums are excellent in their own right. Drake is demanding his respect after a decade of chart dominance, while Kanye is weathering the storm from his mental health breakdowns over the years. According to Diddy, CLB and Donda are authentic pieces of art.

It’s remarkable to see how far Diddy has come since fighting with Drake in the late-2010s. Hip Hop fans may remember the two were at odds after the 6 God allegedly stole the beat for “0-100” from Diddy, which led to series of subtle shots hurled back-and-forth from both camps.

Diddy went to The Breakfast Club in 2015 to explain the situation and reveal there was no fight between himself and Drake. The beef was squashed after Drake and Diddy had a personal phone call to air out their grievances.

In July, Diddy announced he would be returning to the music industry with a brand new project. The New York Hip Hop legend posted a set of pictures of the album title, Off The Grid Vol. 1, and the release date, September 24, 2021, with a note in the caption signaling the end of the iconic Bad Boy era.
“OFF THE GRID,” Diddy wrote in the caption. “The Album September 24, 2021. Welcome to the LOVE ERA!”
