Filipino rapper Loonie is all fired up in latest single, “Gasolina,” featuring CLR. Released on August 25, the two share how much rap motivates them and hoping that with their craft, they’re carving their place in history.

In his first verse, Loonie makes it clear that he is only driven by his passion. “Magdamag nagsusulat sa madilim na bartolina / Ba’t ako magtutulak kung maraming gasolina” (All night writing in a dark dungeon / Why would I push [drugs] when I’m all fueled up?) and goes on to rap, “Mamayagpag bilang magiting na alagad ng sining / Basta may pag-ibig na kalasag ay pilit na papalag / At mananatiling naglalagablab” (To soar as a valiant disciple of art / As long as I’m shielded by love I will resist / And stay ablaze).

“Gasolina” sees the two rappers reuniting since their Tower Sessions performance last month, where they performed a live rendition of the Klumcee-produced track.
