Yesterday (August 26), Thai rapper VKL finally shared his second studio album, Vong Only.  The 18-track album includes his previously released singles, “เขียว” (Green), “ฆาตกร” (Assasin), and “สังหาร” (Kill), with features from WAY-G, ROONY, and DEADHICK.

The prolific rapper also dropped an accompanying visual for the title track, “VONG ONLY,” directed by Prin Tumsatan. VKL ferociously raps, ถ้าความเป็นตัวเอง VONG ONLY กูได้เงินไม่เสียความเป็นตัวเอง / มึงเสียตัวให้game เอา fame/สุดท้ายอยากเป็นตัวเอง” (If being yourself VONG ONLY I get money without losing myself / You lose yourself to the game and get your fame / In the end I want to be myself).

VONG ONLY’s theme revolves around identity and authenticity, with the rapper exploring what it means to stay true to himself and steer away from expected roles. In an interview with Hip Hop Culture TH, VKL explained that there used to be a “Vong Vision,” but right now, he’s more focused on just being himself as Vong. He wants to embody his truth and surround himself with those who support that.
