Drake and Kanye West have been trending Twitter topics since Trippie Redd released “Betrayal” featuring Drake on Saturday (August 21). As fans continue to dissect the Drake shot fired at Kanye West, they’re also wondering who will drop their album first — Drake, Kanye West or Kendrick Lamar.

All three top tier artists have albums that are either fully cooked, half-baked or still being seasoned. Drake is armed with Certified Lover Boy, Kanye is finishing Donda and K. Dot, well, his follow-up to 2017’s Pulitzer Prize-winning album DAMN. appears to be inching toward fruition.

Late last month, Drake told SiriusXM’s Sound 42’s Fri Yiy Friday the project was finally finished, but he still hasn’t committed to a date. Donda was originally supposed to arrive on July 23 but true to form, Ye failed to deliver it on time. It was then rumored to arrive on August 6, but that didn’t happen either.

A fictional release date of August 22 then appeared on the Apple Music pre-order page but with a third public listening party scheduled for Thursday (August 26) in Chicago, that’s likely another unrealistic scenario.

Kendrick Lamar Announces Next Album Will End TDE Career: 'See You Soon Enough'

Meanwhile, Kendrick Lamar shocked his fans when he announced his next project will be his last for Top Dawg Entertainment, the label he’s been with since his now illustrious career was just beginning to blossom. On Friday (August 20), Kendrick shared a rare Instagram post which contained a link to a website.

Once on the site, fans were greeted with a message from the typically elusive artist that read in part, “As I produce my final TDE album, I feel joy to have been a part of such a cultural imprint after 17 years. The Struggles. The Success. And most importantly, the Brotherhood.

“May the Most High continue to use Top Dawg as a vessel for candid creators. As I continue to pursue my life’s calling. There’s beauty in completion. And always faith in the unknown. Thank you for keeping me in your thoughts. I’ve prayed for you all. See you soon enough.”

Now, not only are fans taking bets on who will pull the trigger first, a vast majority of them think Kendrick Lamar’s impending album has put fear into Drake and Kanye West — and will easily outshine them both.
