Blackground Records suggested Aaliyah’s celebrated catalog would be arriving on digital streaming platforms in the near future earlier this week, 20 years after the R&B legend’s tragic 2001 death.
As pointed out by Pop Crave on Twitter, “Blackground Records hint at the imminent release of Aaliyah’s discography on streaming platforms with the launch of new website, social media accounts and the hashtag #AaliyahIsComing.”
According to a press release, this is true. On Thursday (August 5), Blackground Records announced they’d inked a deal with EMPIRE to begin releasing Aaliyah’s catalog — which includes albums such as 1994’s Age Ain’t Nuthin’ But A Number — beginning on August 20.
Aaliyah’s 2x-platinum albums One in a Million and ΛΛLIYΛH as well with her I Care 4 U and Ultimate Aaliyah compilation albums will also be available.
