Nipsey Hussle is the lone Recording Academy member to be inducted into the Hollywood Walk of Fame posthumously. Neighborhood Nip was shot and killed on March 31, 2019 on Slauson and Crenshaw in South Central Los Angeles. Coincidentally, four years ago Thursday, Hussle opened the first-ever smart store with his Marathon Clothing store.

“The panel did an amazing job choosing these very talented people,” said selection committee chair Ellen K. “We can’t wait to see each honoree’s reaction as they realize that they are becoming a part of Hollywood’s history with the unveiling of their star on the world’s most famous walkway.”
