Dr. Dre has been working on a few things as of late. While he has obviously been busy with hitting the weights, yesterday revealed the latest in Dr. Dre ventures that had nothing to do with Detox.
At the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas, Monster Cable held a press conference to unveil a new product in conjunction with Dr. Dre and Interscope chairman, Jimmy Iovine. The new product, titled Beats By Dr Dre, is a new line of headphones said to “revolutionize” how music is listened to.
The three way partnership has been in the works for over two years and was born out of the concept of giving the listener music as it is supposed to be heard.
“With music going forward, I just felt like it was not capturing the sound that I set out for the audience to listen to,”Dr. Dre said. “I spend a lot of time working hard in the studio and I want the music to be heard the way it’s intended to and I think Beats accomplishes that.”

The headphones are designed to give the listener the full music listening experience – the dynamic range, low end bass and clarity that producers intend when creating music.
Jimmy Iovine and Interscope will work with Monster to market the product by utilizing other artists to assist in promotion.
“Monster reminded me of Interscope Records,”Iovine stated. “It’s very personal to these guys, they do nothing but put out the best quality and they have the insane patience to work with (Dr. Dre).”
“His last album was seven years ago and he’s been working on the new one ever since,”Iovine continued. “Those headphones were not coming out until they were exactly like he (wanted them to be). There’s not another headphone in the world that can capture that sound like Beats.”
