Dr. Dre and future ex-wife Nicole Young have been embroiled in a bitter divorce since last June. As the proceedings grow increasingly messier, Dr. Dre is reportedly now being forced to find new legal counsel.

According to Page Six, a judge has ruled high profile celebrity attorney Laura Wasser and Dre’s other’s lawyer, Howard King, won’t be allowed to represent the West Coast Hip Hop mogul any longer. Young and her attorneys argued King has represented the couple numerous times throughout their marriage, causing a conflict of interest.

Wasser was “vicariously disqualified” from working for Dre because of her connection to King. Consequently, a judge ordered Dr. Dre to “obtain counsel as soon as possible.”

Young filed for divorce in June 2020, citing “irreconcilable differences.” The primary point of contention is a prenuptial agreement Young willingly signed in 1996 but insists isn’t valid because Dre allegedly ripped it up one night during some kind of romantic gesture.

As the couple wrestles over Dr. Dre’s reported $800 million fortune, Young continues to make frequent allegations of abuse, infidelity and manipulation. Earlier this month, Dre filed court documents denying Young’s “appalling” abuse claims and admitting they’re making his life more stressful.

He also says the allegations are simply part of her strategy to squeeze more money out of him. He claims Young didn’t bring abuse into the picture until after she filed for divorce and learned the prenup would prevent her from collecting 50 percent of his money.
