Lil Loaded caught a small break in his murder case.

On Friday (March 5), the Dallas rapper and Epic Records signee was indicted on one count of manslaughter in the shooting death of 18-year-old Khalil Walker in 2020. The “6locc 6baby” rapper had originally been charged with murder in Walker’s death but a Dallas County grand jury determined he “recklessly” caused Walker’s death, hence the lowered charge.

Lil Loaded’s attorney, Ashkhan Mehyari, stated he didn’t believe his client was guilty of any crime but said the indictment was more reflective of what happened between the rapper and Walker.

“There’s obviously no malice here,” Mehyari said, nothing Walker and Lil Loaded were best friends.

In October 2020, officers went to Walker’s home and discovered the teen suffering from a gunshot wound to the torso. He later died at a local area hospital. Loaded, Walker and a third person were outside the home when Walker’s sister heard two gunshots and discovered Loaded standing over her brother, who lay wounded in the street. According to a police affidavit, Walker’s sister discovered a video of Loaded shooting her brother on her brother’s phone.
