Atlanta, GA

Roddy Ricch and 42 Dugg were filming a music video in Atlanta over the weekend when someone reportedly opened fire. According to WSB-TV 2, three people were shot on Sunday afternoon (February 21), with two of them hospitalized with non-life threatening injuries. At the time, it was unclear if either rapper was on the scene at the time of the shooting or if they had any involvement.

But as local police continued to investigate, Dugg assured his fans he wasn’t injured during the melee, writing on Instagram, “Appreciate the concern. although I did not get SHOT!!!!”

Now, Roddy has followed his collaborator’s lead with a social media post of his own. On Monday (February 22), “The Box” success story shared a tweet with his 2.8 million followers indicating he was just fine.

In what feels like a broken record, the latest shooting follows a recent string of disturbing gun violence in the rap community. More recently, King Von was fatally shot outside of an Atlanta hookah bar in November 2020, which was followed by Mo3’s murder on a Dallas highway just a few days later.
