As Dr. Dre continues to recover from a reported brain aneurysm at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles, there’s been some movement in his contentious divorce case with estranged wife Nicole Young.

On Thursday (January 7), TMZ reported Dre has conceded to giving the $2 million in temporary spousal support Young has been demanding since filing for divorce in June. However, he’s only required to write a “one-time check” for now, at least until their next scheduled hearing in April.

But it wasn’t a complete loss for Dre; the lauded Hip Hop producer won’t have to cough up the additional $5 million in attorney fees she was also requesting nor will he have to cover her security costs. Dre will continue to pay Young’s living expenses at their Malibu estate, as well as her mother’s Pacific Palisades home for the next several months.

Dre and Young’s attorneys struck the deal in court on Wednesday (January 6), but Dre was forced to sign the agreement from his bed at Cedars-Sinai.

Dre reportedly suffered a brain aneurysm on Monday (January 3) and was rushed by ambulance to Cedars-Sinai. He was taken directly to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) where doctors ran a battery of tests in an effort to determine how the brain bleed originated.

As the Hip Hop community held its collective breath, Dre provided an update via Instagram and assured everybody he was on the mend.

“Thanks to my family, friends and fans for their interest and well wishes,” he wrote. “I’m doing great and getting excellent care from my medical team. I will be out of the hospital and back home soon. Shout out to all the great medical professionals at Cedars. One love!”

The couple’s divorce has been marred by ugly accusations — with Young accusing him of abuse, cheating and fathering children outside of their marriage and Dre accusing his wife of 24 years of pilfering hundreds of thousands of dollars from Record One Studios, a company she co-founded with Dre in 2015.

The case centers on a prenuptial agreement Young reportedly signed in 1996, which she wants rendered null and void because he allegedly ripped it up one night as some kind of romantic gesture.
