New York, NY

Lil Tjay was shooting a music video in New York City on Saturday night (December 26) when he got some unexpected visitors.

According to TMZ, several New York City Police Department officers swarmed the vicinity while he was mid-action, prompting the Bronx-bred rapper to start filming from inside the vehicle. The officers ask Lil Tjay to step out of the car and they begin to search through his bright orange jacket.

After a thorough search of Lil Tjay’s car, police didn’t make any arrests nor did they explain why he was targeted. The NYPD is expected to prepare a statement regarding the recent incident sometime Sunday (December 27).

The 19-year-old has feigned trouble with the law before, so it’s unclear if this was another stunt or a legitimate police search. In a viral clip from 2019, it looked like he was being arrested, but it turned out to be a promotional stunt for his “F.N.” video. The David Wept-directed visual has since amassed over 135 million YouTube views.
