Rappers record so many verses over time, it’s possible a few slip their memory and get lost in the shuffle. Playboi Carti appeared as a guest on Lil Yachty’s “Flex Up” alongside Future, which landed on Yachty’s Lil Boat 3.5 deluxe album on Friday (November 27).

A surprised Carti took to Twitter shortly after “Flex Up” dropped to admit he doesn’t recall exactly when he recorded his squeaky verse over the distorted Southside production.

“I dNt ev3n kno when i did dat verse hard,” he wrote.

Carti has been more active on social media in recent days, leading many fans to believe he has more new music on the way. In a feature with GQ, which arrived on Monday (November 24), Carti teased his years-in-the-making Whole Lotta Red album to drive hype even further. He provided a vague “we’ll see” regarding WLR actually being his next project, but promised new music that will be “psyched out” and have an “alternative” vibe before 2020 ends.

On social media, Carti revealed he turned in his next album and also previewed an upcoming collaboration with Kanye West, which could appear on the project. In the comment section, he clarified that the spacy tune is produced by Wheezy. His last album came in 2018 with Die Lit.

Late Thursday (November 26), the Atlanta native finished off Thanksgiving by sharing a photo holding his 7-month-old baby boy Onyx Carter. Onyx is Carti’s first and only child with ex-girlfriend Iggy Azalea.
