Lil Wayne Faces Up To 10 Years In Prison For Federal Weapons Charge

Lil Wayne is reportedly facing some serious prison time. According to TMZ, the U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of Florida has charged the Cash Money legend with one count of possession of a firearm and ammunition by a convicted felon.

The charge stems from December 2019 when federal agents searched Weezy’s private plane, which had stopped at Miami-Opa Locka Executive Airport on the way to California. While conducting the search, the agents discovered cocaine and a weapon, but Wayne’s attorney Howard Srebnick said his client was “cleared” to leave.

Now, the feds believe Wayne was illegally in possession of a weapon and ammunition. Srebnick says the 38-year-old rapper was charged for possessing a gold-plated handgun in his luggage last December.

“There is no allegation that he ever fired it, brandished it, used it or threatened to use it,” Srebnick explains. “There is no allegation that he is a dangerous person.  The charge is that because he was convicted of a felony in the past, he is prohibited from possessing a firearm.”

Following the search, three law enforcement sources told the Miami Herald federal agents received a tip about drugs possibly being transported and were working on securing a search warrant from a Miami federal judge, which was evidently authorized. Investigators with the FBI, Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, Miami-Dade police and other agencies all showed up to greet Wayne’s Gulfstream G-V as part of the search squad.

If found guilty, Wayne could face up to 10 years behind bars.

    1. Maybe he can ask trump to pardon him before his ass gets dragged outta the oval office by the guys in the white coats with the butterfly nets

    2. He’ll probably get house arrest in the mansion of his choice along with drank, drugs, hookers, food and a music studio. Oh wait that’s a fed mandated quarantine

    3. when you’re rich and famous black man its dumb to do stuff that will expose you. the system looking for any opportunity to lock you up. Move smart

    4. He wont see a day of prison. What a stupid move though. Whos out there gunning for Wayne? And if they are, he has security. Wayne shot himself in tge foot once before, do you think hes gonna risk it again?

    5. Gold plated gun all for show I guess, I know Thug homies made an attempt on his life way back, but you ain’t gonna get caught up ina drive by in air.

    6. This is what keeps birdman as his handler… enable him until he’s dependent. If he sides with trump you know he’ll be back in the fold with birdman. his Drug use is hiding something

    7. These laws are dumb. Why can’t a convicted felon carry a weapon?? He doesn’t want to protect himself anymore? Don’t go shooting at me about he should’ve thought about that before he became a felon jazz. Everybody makes mistakes. We need to punish people for their mistakes, but laws have made it to where people’s citizenship gets lowered. This is crap man. I even take the cocaine charge more seriously. They dropped that it appears. Wtf.

      1. The fact that you consider possession of cocaine to be worse than a convicted felon carrying a weapon speaks volumes about the USA’s fetishism of guns that the majority of the civilised world finds abhorrent.

    8. Ill put money this os bc he supported trump. Racist dems always find new tatics to lock ppl up and americans fall for it. White liberal woman run the plantation
