Funkmaster Flex is never one to shy away from vocalizing his opinions. On Tuesday (October 27), the longtime Hot 97 host drudged up T.I’s old Crime Stoppers ad in an Instagram post and blasted the Hustle Gang boss for doing it — while claiming he has nothing but “the utmost respect” for him.
“His record making ability is stellar!” he wrote in the caption. “He’s a positive brother who does everything for his community! He also helps others any chance he gets! BUT PLEASE DONT TRY TO PAINT A NARRATIVE IN SOCIAL MEDIA TO THE YOUNGER GENERATION THAT AINT TRUE!
“PEEPED ALL YOUR SLICK SOCIAL MEDIA TALK AS YOU TRIED TO ROCK PEOPLE TO SLEEP BEHIND THE SCENES! YOU HAVE AN OPINION AND I GAVE MY OPINION OF YOU! YOU DOING @crimestoppersatlanta AND TESTIFYING IN COURT / TRIAL! WHAT WOULD U CALL THE NEXT MAN THAT DID THAT? COMMENTS OFF!”
Flex’s comments arrive after it was revealed T.I. would go head-to-head with Jeezy in the next Verzuz battle, rather than facing off with New York native Busta Rhymes. Something about that evidently didn’t sit right with Flex.

“New York City, this is the most important Verzuz battle ever,” Flex said during his radio show on Wednesday (October 28). “Because I’m gonna see a commercial corndog get handed to himself by the streets and I can’t wait because it can’t come any quicker.
“T.I., let me tell you something about yourself. You played yourself with that 50 Cent battle because 50 was never going to step in the ring with you. He’s getting too much bread and you knew that. Busta Rhymes scared you. You really didn’t want that smoke,” he continued before calling Tip a snitch.”
He added, “Let me play the best song T.I. ever made,” the proceeded to play the Crime Stoppers drop. He then took to Twitter and continued his rant with, “Hahahah! Rappers that cooperate/testify for the police talk the loudest in social media! Why do informants always wanna have a voice after they cooperate? @ A rapper u think is an informant?”
Tip addressed the Crime Stoppers ad in July while speaking to The Breakfast Club.

I’m not willing to tell on nobody to keep from doing long numbers and to cancel out millions of dollars in my career but to keep from doing a drop to tell citizens to do what citizens are already able to do, I’m gonna do that every time,” he said. “If I catch another case, you can expect another commercial.
“Listen bro, I don’t have any angst or regret or anything. I don’t feel guilty or bad about it. I ain’t put nobody in jail — ever. If it’s a difference between telling on somebody and a commercial, I’m going to take the commercial every time.”
