The self-admitted Barb rejoiced in Minaj’s announcement on Thursday (October 15), when she revealed her remix to Sada Baby’s “Whole Lotta Choppas” would arrive at midnight. Responding to Minaj’s tweet, the “Old Town Road” rapper expressed his excitement about the new music.
“let’s fckkkinnn goooo,” he wrote.

Back in June, Nas X finally admitted his Barb status after hiding it since catapulting into fame in 2019, despite internet sleuths previously linking him to the popular stan page @NasMaraj on Twitter. Though he never quite copped to running the account, he did admit that he’d initially hid his Barb status because he didn’t want people to realize he was gay and stop his success before it came.
“people will assume if you had an entire fan page dedicated to nicki u are gay,” he explained. “and the rap/music industry ain’t exactly built or accepting of gay men yet.”
Minaj herself then chimed in, and thanked Lil Nas X for sharing his truth.
It was a bit of a sting when you denied being a barb, but I understand,” she wrote. “Congratulations on building up your confidence to speak your truth. @LilNasX”
The head Barb recently gave birth to a baby boy with husband Kenneth Petty, and has been understandably quiet on the music front since. But apparently even pregnancy leave couldn’t stop her from hopping on a song as popular as Sada Baby’s “Whole Lotta Choppas”!
Thanks in part to TikTok, the Detroit rap star’s record is on fire right now and the video has amassed over 7 million views in less than two months. Before the remix arrives, revisit the original track below.
