Los Angeles rapper Janky of YLSTE has started touting himself as “The New TDE,” sparking rumors he’s the latest artist signed to Top Dawg Entertainment.

On Wednesday (September 23), Janky shared a photo of himself with TDE’s golden child Kendrick Lamar and tagged K. Dot in the photo.

The post read, “I’m in the studio with Kendrick Lamar shit brazy.” He also changed his Twitter handle to read “The New TDE.”

On the TDE side, nothing official has come from their camp, but Janky continues to celebrate what appears to be his new career path.

“I’m glad TDE found me no bap,” he wrote. “I deserve all this shit.”

When Janky was asked if he was joining the TDE roster, he replied, “Yes we working on it.” The Baldwin Village native has already released numerous projects, including Verses, Deeper Than Gang Ties and Inevitable.

TDE is currently home to Kendrick, SZA, Jay Rock, Ab-Soul, ScHoolboy Q, REASON, Black Hippy, Isaiah Rashad, Lance Skiiwalker, SiR and Zacari. On the album front, REASON is gearing up to drop his forthcoming album New Beginnings next month.

Meanwhile, there’s been chatter surrounding Kendrick’s highly anticipated follow-up to 2017’s Pulitzer Prize-winning album DAMN. The Compton native was recently spotted around Los Angeles shooting what appears to be a music video.

In May, Top Dawg CEO Anthony “Top Dawg” Tiffith provided a small update, writing, “Stay patient. King Kendrick will return soon.”
