Juelz Santana has been officially released from the FCI Petersburg Medium in Hopewell, Virginia. The Dipset OG was initially expected to come home last week, but his wife Kimbella explained “some shit happened.”
On Wednesday (August 5), Kim shared an Instagram video with Santana’s 2.2 million followers and revealed she was standing outside of the prison waiting for him to walk out.
Roughly seven hours later, Santana made his grand exit — mask and all — and fell into the arms of his children, including his third child with Kim who was born while Santana was still behind bars. In a follow-up Instagram post, Santana expressed how much he longed for his family while locked up.
“I missed my family,” he captioned the photos. “GOD is good!!! #freeatlast #imback.”

In a second Instagram post, Santana showed off his “Free Santana” hat and t-shirt with the simple caption, “Free at last. #ImBack #SantanaFree.”
Santana was arrested in March 2018 after security at Newark Liberty International Airport found a loaded gun and oxycodone pills in his carry-on bag. He originally fled the scene but eventually turned himself in to police a few days later. He ultimately pleaded guilty to unlawful possession of a weapon and possession of a controlled dangerous substance.
In December 2018, he was handed down a 27-month prison sentence. He checked in to FCI the following March after striking a plea deal in his drugs and weapons case, which he addressed on an episode of Love & Hip Hop: New York.
