Pop Smoke fans have largely been happy with the final product of his posthumous album, but Tyga’s appearance on “West Coast Shit” and Karol G’s contribution to “Enjoy Yourself” have caught a significant amount of flack on social media. Despite speculation about the two not having Pop’s blessing, Tyga shared a few text messages proving the late rapper co-signed their involvement.
“Wish u was here bro bro #WooForever #ShootForTheStarsAimForTheMoon,” the West Coast artist wrote along with screenshots of the texts.

The messages show Tyga and the slain rapper discussing a collaboration, as well as the involvement of Karol G, just a week before Pop was shot and killed in Los Angeles.

The highly anticipated album featured guest appearances by DaBaby, Future, Quavo, Lil Baby, Swae Lee and more. The project did have a bumpy rollout though as its original cover art designed by Virgil Abloh was maligned by fans. The criticism became so widespread the artwork was changed in time for the LP’s release.
In addition to the cover hiccup, RCA Records artist Calboy revealed he was removed from the album cut “Diana” yet his adlibs remained on the song.
