August Alsina claimed to have had a “years-long” affair with actress and Red Table Talk host Jada Pinkett Smith while speaking to The Breakfast Club co-host Angela Yee for a recent interview.

During the conversation, he insisted Pinkett Smith’s husband Will Smith granted him permission to pursue a sexual relationship with his wife.

Not long after reps for Pinkett Smith said Alsina’s claims are “absolutely not true,” a rep for her blockbuster movie star husband told The Sun the allegations are simply “wrong.”

But according to Alsina, he had a passionate affair with Pinkett Smith and is extremely close with her entire clan.

“I love those people literally like my family,” Alsina told Yee. “I actually sat down with Will and had a conversation due to the transformation from their marriage to life partnership that they’ve spoken on several times and it not involving romanticism. He gave me his blessing and I totally gave myself to that relationship for years of my life.

“And I truly am really, really deeply loved and have a ton of love for her. I devoted myself to it. I gave my full self to it – so much so to the point that I can die right now and be OK with knowing that I truly gave myself to somebody.”

The 27-year-old singer reportedly forged a friendship with the family in 2015 after being introduced by their son Jaden. In 2016, he accompanied them to Hawaii for a vacation and attended the 2017 BET Awards with Pinkett Smith.

Rumors the couple have been in an open relationship have been circulating for years. While speaking to a therapist on an episode of Red Table Talk, Pinkett Smith addressed allegations of infidelity.

“I’m asked a lot about, ‘Is there infidelity in your relationship with Will?'” she said. “And it’s like, ‘No, but there’ve been other betrayals of the heart that have been far bigger than I could even think in regards to an infidelity situation.'”

“I was devastated even worse than a divorce,” Will said. “We broke up within our marriage and got back together again. We had to rebuild with new rules and something way, completely different.”
