Love it or hate it, Tekashi 6ix9ine made his return to rap with “GOOBA” on Friday (May 8) — his first musical offering since he was granted a “compassionate release” from prison last month.
The video for the single racked up over 36 million views on YouTube in less than 24 hours, breaking Eminem’s previously held record, and his Instagram Live session also broke a record with its roughly 1.9 million viewers. But not everyone is feeling his grand re-entrance, especially Snoop Dogg and Meek Mill.
After longtime Hip Hop journalist Elliott Wilson shared the cover art of the single to his Instagram Stories, Snoop and Meek were quick to hop in the comment section and tell the Rap Radar founder/CEO how they felt.
“Durkio dropped today and he the streets cmon Elliot?” Meek wrote. “Post Durk shit it’s [fire] no post from Durk on a hip hop page but this???? You the og Elliot.”

Snoop’s echoed a similar sentiment, writing, “They gotta stop pushing this [rat] all these media outlets making snitching cool. I’m old school fuck 69 and everybody pushing his line right now all New York. Gz. Feel me on this and if u don’t fuck u2. @meekmill if u allow sucka shit then us a sucka. Love u cuz.”
During 6ix9ine’s record-breaking IG Live session, he apologized for “snitching” but said he wasn’t going to feel bad about it — he simply did what he had to do. He also had a few words for other artists in the culture who are bashing him, insisting they’re only dissing him because they’re jealous.
“Before I got locked up, it was all, ‘Fuck that rainbow-haired kid …y’all didn’t really have a reason to not like me,” he said. “‘He’s mad, loud’ — that was your reason. Of course, the go-to is now I snitched. I can’t blame you. I’m sorry to my fans because they don’t deserve that. My family, my mother … don’t deserve it. I’m sorry, but you’re not going to break me down like I did something wrong.
“If a rat came home and did more numbers than me, I would be mad too. I would. I promise you I would be mad. You have every reason to be mad. No matter how much dirt you throw on my name and I seen everything — everyone want to be quiet now. For two years, y’all made fun of me … I still came home and I’m a legend at the age of 24 years old because I came home and rat is doing more numbers than you.”

Meek went in on 6ix9ine shortly before “GOOBA” hit YouTube, comparing him to the “rat” who killed Nipsey Hussle. 6ix9ine fired back and told him to worry about his newborn son — not a “Mexican with rainbow hair.”
