It’s no secret that in addition to having a great ear, Dr. Dre possesses an impeccable business acumen. On Monday (December 23), Forbes crowned the West Coast legend the highest paid musician of the 2010s.

Though he hasn’t put out an album in four years, Dre racked up an impressive $950 million dollars over the past decade. The majority of those earnings stemmed from owning 20 percent of the iconic headphones Beats. Back in 2014, the headphone company was sold to Apple for a cool $3 billion dollars. Right behind Dre is Taylor Swift, earning $825 million dollars.

The talented producer isn’t the only Hip Hop mogul on the Top 10 list. At No. 5 is Diddy at $605 million dollars and two slots down is JAY-Z with $560 million dollars in earnings. [apple_news_ad type=”any”]

While he’s been clearly finding success as both an entrepreneur and philanthropist, his musical output has been scarce during the past few years.
